Ferocious Dog have been described as The Levellers meets Billy Bragg and that is a line they should be happy to hear.
The band’s brand of punk folk is heavily influenced by artists from the less pop driven end of the music business.
They also name Stourbridge’s own Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, The Wonder Stuff and PWEI among their influences and their line up includes Les Carter – better known as Fruitbat from Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine.
Their work has made its mark, including with leading music journalist John Robb, who said: “There is no way they’re following any hipster templates – fronted by a big burly man with a mohican who sings impassioned political songs of broken Britain whilst his band seethes like a punky Levellers – they are the music business’s worst nightmare – a great band who are going to make it without anyone’s permission.”
Ferocious Dog’s Fake News and Propaganda tour will be rolling into Bilston’s Robin 2 on March 9 where they will be supported by folk rockers The Endings.
