STOURBRIDGE’S favourite bluesman Ian Parker has been at Base Studios talking about his new album.
Spoonful of Gold is Ian’s personal tribute to the music of Willie Dixon, who worked with the biggest names in the business like Bo Diddley and Muddy Waters.
The album was recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales and features Ian’s old friend and musical collaborator Morg Morgan.
Morg and Ian stopped by the Base or a chat about the album, which has received acclaim from the critics and features Parker’s take on classics like Spoonful and I Just Want to Make Love To You.
Cerys Matthews also featured a track from the album on her BBC Radio 2 show.
While he was at the Base, In couldn’t resist performing a couple of songs from the album for the cameras – check back soon for clips of Ian in action and talking about what inspired him to record the album.
