James Morrison’s album You’re Stronger Than You Know has taken the award-winning singer/songwriter in a new direction after some tough times.
Tacks on the album take fans into dark corners of his personal and professional life while also presenting a positive message about conquering adversity.
The album also gives a contemporary British twist to the Motown sound which has hit the right notes with critics and fans.
The single My Love Goes On featuring Joss Stone was streamed eight million times and nominated as record of the week on BBC Radio 2.
Morrison’s fresh creative impetus came from a new record deal and stripping the recording process back to performance rather than using clever studio tricks to create his sound.
He has announced a UK tour which includes a show at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on Monday November 4.
